(Los Angeles) The Los Angeles Dodgers put pitcher Alex Wood's name on the injury list on Tuesday due to an inflamed shoulder.

Wood joins left-handed ace Clayton Kershaw, who was on the sidelines after injuring his back during a weight room workout last week.

Kershaw was unable to take part in the opener as planned.

Wood made his first start with the Dodgers since 2018 on Saturday in a 5-4 loss to the San Francisco Giants. He allowed three runs and three hits in three innings.

The Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Sborz ahead of their Houston duel against the Astros.

Last year, Sborz played in seven games in the Dodgers uniform. He was 0-1 with an 8.00 earned-run average and seven strikeouts.
